"The goal of parenting is not for us to decide what we want our children to become and then ruthlessly teach, train, squeeze, badger, and cajole them into that mold. Instead, we must recognize that God has already designed them. God already has a mature person and a long-range purpose in mind. Our job is to see our children as God does - to involve ourselves in God's plans for them." ~ from A Mother's Heart by Jean Flemming

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity." ~ Margaret Nadauld

Sometimes when I pray, it feels like God is all around me - so close, that when I'm done, I almost hate to say amen. Saying amen - in a way, that's almost like ending a call...like hanging up, you know? It feels like God just evaporates out of the room. So that made me think...wouldn't it be great if we could leave a prayer off the hook? Just leave it off the hook forever. Then whenever we stopped to listen, God would be right there breathing. ~ Laura Peyton Roberts

The great thing, if one can, is to stop regarding all the unpleasant things as interruptions of one's own or real life. The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one's real life - the life God is sending one day by day. ~ C. S. Lewis

“Examine the lives of the best and most fruitful people and peoples and ask yourselves whether a tree that is supposed to grow to a proud height can dispense with bad weather and storms; whether misfortune and external resistance, some kinds of hatred, jealousy, stubbornness, mistrust, hardness, avarice, and violence do not belong among the favourable conditions without which any great growth even of virtue is scarcely possible.” ~ Nietzsche

"Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" ~ It's a Wonderful Life (film)

"A right view of God and the world to come requires that we have also a right view of the world in which we live and our relation to it. So much depends on this that we cannot afford to be careless about it." A.W. Tozer

“Sometimes our light goes out, but is blown again into instant flame by an encounter with another human being.” ~ Albert Schweitzer

"What if brokenness is a divine gift, a mystery we can fully understand and appreciate only in eternity? What if our deepest wounds are the very places through which God's mercy flows to others? What if instead of trying to fix ourselves, we present ourselves - broken and flawed though we are - to be used as He sees fit...for His glory and our good? What if the brokenness we ask God to fix is in fact a gift? What if the wounds we beg God to heal, the burdens we plead with Him to remove, are the very things that make us fit for His service? Can our brokenness be a blessing?" ~ Sheila Walsh, God Loves Broken People

"Be careful who you let comfort you...who you surround yourself with. We all appreciate those who commiserate with our pain, our struggles, our sin...but don't linger there, don't let that be enough...find those who will go beyond perfunctory surface-level compassion and will take you by the hand and say "C'mon, let's go back to the Word of God"." ~ Me, Tina :)

"Discipleship does not happen by accident; it is a process that is animated by an ongoing intention of the heart. No one suddenly stumbles into spirituality, and if we do not decide to apprentice ourselves to Jesus’ authority, we will not become His disciples." ~ Ken Boa

Thank you! Reading through what you have on your site has changed the course of my day. I love your quotes! Also, the poem about how children won't wait really touched me and reminded me of what is really important and why I am doing what I am doing. I initially wanted to leave a comment in regards to your give away since I have been trying to come up with ways to purchase the timeline and figures, but now I am newly inspired to simply focus on my children and have less of an agenda. That is the best gift and give away. Keep spuring us on! Many blessings to you. Janelle

Sorry I never leave comments so I do not know how to leave my contact information.
